Day 10, February 15th, 2008

Omnipresence

“He will not let your foot slip he who watches over you will not slumber.” Psalm 121:3

God is omnipresent.  He is never far from us.  He is always with us in our darkest nights and in our brightest days.  Whenever we feel alone, God is the one constant that is still with us.

I have found that knowledge of God’s omnipresence to be one of the most comforting aspect of my relationship with God.  I can think of so many times when God should have abandoned me, but instead, he continues to speak to me in that “still small voice” that softly reverberate in the deepest chamber of my heart.

I have a dog that is always annoyed when my wife or I leave the house.  She always wants us there.  She whimpers and cries the entire time anyone of us is absent.   I always feel bad for her when both have to leave and wish we could take her every place we go.

I feel so lucky to have a God who is willing to be with us everywhere.  He is there, as the Psalmist writes in verse 8, with "our going out and our going in.”

Prayer: Dear omnipresent God, we are in constant need of your presence, continue to journey with us in this life so that we may be able to do your will. Amen.
