Day 29, Wednesday - March 5th, 2008

Changed Forever!

“Then the Pharisees also began to ask him how he had received his sight. He said to them, ‘He put mud on my eyes. Then I washed, and now I see.’” John 9:15

Little did this blind man knew it, but the day he encountered Christ was a day his life would change forever.  The result of his encounter was that he became an evangelist, like the Samaritan Woman at the Well, the disciples on their first meeting with Christ, Nicodemus and even Pilate himself.

Christ is so amazing that when we encounter Him, our world is turned upside down and a whole new vision for our lives come before our very eyes.  Yet, we have to be willing to see the new vision, accept the world turned upside down.  The Pharisees, the townsfolk and the blind man’s parents were driven by fear, cockiness and disbelief that they couldn’t understand what Christ was about.  The only one that understood was the man born blind.

I have wondered if people have to have a drastic shock to their world before they can see Christ as for who He is?  Can’t people see people through the simple encounter of seeing him beside us trying to be our friend, our soulmate and our paraclete?

Our lives can change as dramatic as the man born blind but we don’t need a shock to the system like we read all the time in the Bible, do we?  Where are you with Christ?  Was your life changed by your encounter(s) with Christ or have you been the same?

Prayer: Dear Lord of our world, change our lives and mold our hearts so that we may be a tool of love, hope and peace.  Amen.
