On this day of love and romance, I still love the fact that I can rest in one major assurance of life – the unmerited grace and love of God through his Son.  I can’t sing like Julie Andrews from the mountaintop because I can’t carry a tune but I shout it from every valley the eternal gratitude I feel for this gift. 

I love the Lord and all his being and I love that I can devote my life to the ministry of Christ (even while I am on vacation).  For me, I can’t imagine a life that is spent better than one doing God’s work.  I devote my life to Christ because I know God loves me and all of creation so much that me, a speck of sand on the beach that is humanity, can dare dream of life eternal.

Dear Lord, I thank you for the gift you gave me and the promise of eternal life.  Help us to always live a life worthy of your love and grace. Amen.
